Patcay.com – Huawei has officially launched the MateBook X Pro laptop with options of Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 variants for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
The MateBook X Pro exudes luxury at first glance. This product appears to be designed to rival Apple’s MacBook Air, featuring a similarly sleek and lightweight design. The laptop has a slim, light body made of magnesium alloy, measuring just 13.7 millimeters thick, tapering down to 4 millimeters.
Huawei claims the MateBook X Pro weighs only 980 grams, making it lighter than the MacBook Air, which weighs 1.24 kilograms. This is quite impressive, considering such a weight is typically found in a recipe book rather than a laptop specification sheet.

I decided to test how light this laptop actually is. There aren’t many laptops that can be held with one hand without straining the wrist, but the Huawei MateBook X Pro is one of them.
The MateBook X Pro is Huawei’s first laptop to feature the Intel Ultra 9 CPU. It comes with a 14.2-inch flexible OLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 1000 nits, and a resolution of 3120×2080. Few Windows laptops can compete with these specs.
In terms of design, Huawei maintains a style with smoothly curved edges and a simple yet prominent company logo. The speakers face upwards, flanking the keyboard, and aligning with the USB-C ports. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so users will need to rely on Bluetooth or a USB dongle.
The MateBook X Pro’s screen, with thin bezels on all four sides, is very satisfying. The resolution and 120Hz refresh rate make cursor movement and Windows UI elements extremely smooth. While I haven’t tested the screen’s brightness under sunlight, it appears flawless indoors. Typing on this laptop is also enjoyable, especially given its slim design.
The entire keyboard is backlit with LEDs that provide a slight glow around each key. The power button also serves as a fingerprint scanner.
The Huawei MateBook X Pro runs on the Windows 11 operating system. With the Super Turbo feature, users can boot up and open large files quickly, and switch between multitasking seamlessly.
This laptop is powered by a 70Wh battery that can last approximately 6.5 hours for daily use or 11 hours for video playback.
With the Intel Core Ultra 9 running at full capacity, the laptop needs a strong cooling system, and the Huawei Shark Fin Fan 3.0 cooling system is claimed to meet these needs effectively.
Paired with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, Huawei has created a powerhouse in the ultraportable class. The version with the Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
