Patcay.com – Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, has introduced a corporate chatbot known as Meta AI. Now, you can access Meta AI through the WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram apps, making access to Meta AI easier without the need to install separate applications like ChatGPT.
This generative artificial intelligence service was announced by Meta at its annual conference, Connect 2023. Similar to ChatGPT developed by OpenAI, Meta AI also offers advanced conversational capabilities. What’s intriguing is that Meta AI can display real-time web results thanks to its collaboration with Microsoft Bing.
Furthermore, Meta AI can generate realistic images without requiring additional applications. This is made possible through innovations similar to the technology behind DALL-E, also developed by OpenAI, which can generate images through ChatGPT.
Technically, Meta has not provided detailed information about how they trained their AI chatbot. Ahmad Al-Dahle, Vice President of Generative AI at Meta, only gave an overview that they used a “custom-built” language model based on Llama 2.
The company also emphasized that content from Instagram and Facebook was not used to train their language model.
One example of Meta AI’s usage presented by Meta is their chatbot’s ability to help users find route options when discussing “hiking trails to explore in Santa Cruz.”
However, Meta has not yet revealed in detail how this chatbot will be integrated into WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger. What is certain is that this chatbot is currently available in beta for users in the United States.
In the future, Meta plans to introduce their AI chatbot in the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and Quest 3.
Additionally, Meta has launched AI-based stickers in various of its social media applications. This feature allows users to create custom stickers for use in conversations.
“Our AI tools can turn your text commands into a variety of unique and high-quality stickers in seconds.” Meta explains.
These AI-based stickers will be rolled out to a number of users, particularly English speakers, next month on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook Stories.
Meta also offers other AI-powered features, including the ability to edit images with AI assistance. This feature allows users to edit photos or create joint photos with friends on Instagram. Some supported features include Restyle, which enables users to modify images with visual effects, and Backdrop, which allows users to change the background of an image.
Users can give commands like “place me in front of the aurora,” and Meta AI will create a photo with the main subject from the related image and the aurora background as instructed.
