Patcay.com – Garena has just announced a collaboration with Kadokawa Corporation to produce an anime adaptation of their popular game, Free Fire. This game is one of Garena’s flagship titles and has achieved significant milestones.
In an official statement received on Tuesday (May 14, 2024), Garena mentioned that Free Fire recorded a peak of 100 million Daily Active Users (DAU) worldwide in February 2024.
The Free Fire anime project will be produced by a Japanese animation studio, with Kadokawa Qingyu—the international branch of Kadokawa—acting as the production manager. The anime is planned to be broadcast globally, giving fans around the world a chance to enjoy it.

Free Fire is a battle royale game developed and published globally by Garena. According to data.ai, it was the most downloaded mobile game in the world from 2019 to 2021 and remained the most downloaded mobile battle royale game in 2022 and 2023.
In addition to the classic battle royale mode, Free Fire also offers various other game modes such as Clash Squad, Pet Mania, and Zombie Invasion, along with several additional modes.
Recently, on April 17, 2024, Free Fire launched a dragon-themed patch update. This update introduced several gameplay improvements to enhance the playing experience, including the addition of a new character named Mechadrake.
This dragon character will appear in both Battle Royale and Clash Squad battles, adding more excitement to the game for players.
